How do I book a session?
Booking is simple! Just fill out the contact form on my website and I’ll get back to you with available dates and the next steps. Once your session is confirmed, I’ll send over everything you need to prepare.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due before or on the day of your session.
Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions take place outdoors at beautiful local locations such as state parks, Lake Michigan beaches, fields, or other scenic spots. If you have a favorite location in mind, I’m always happy to consider it!
Do you travel?
Yes! I’m based in Northern Michigan but love exploring new locations. Travel within the local area is included, and I’m happy to travel farther for sessions with a small travel fee depending on distance.
What should we wear?
After booking, I’ll send a session guide with tips and suggestions to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully and feel comfortable.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll simply reschedule your session for another date that works for both of us.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
Your final gallery will typically be delivered within 2–3 weeks after your session.
How will we receive our photos?
Your images will be delivered through a private online gallery where you can download your photos and share them with family and friends.
What if I’m awkward in photos?
You’re not alone — most people feel that way! My sessions are relaxed and guided, so you’ll never be left wondering what to do. I’ll help with natural prompts and simple direction so everything feels comfortable and genuine.
Do you help with posing?
Absolutely. I guide you through the entire session with natural prompts and gentle direction so nothing feels stiff or forced. My goal is to capture real connection and authentic moments.
What if my kids or pets are shy?
That’s completely okay! I take time to let everyone warm up and feel comfortable. Sessions are never rushed, and some of the sweetest photos happen once everyone settles in.
What if my kids (or pets) don't cooperate?
That's completely okay! My sessions are relaxed and playful so everyone can feel comfortable. Some of the best photos come from those natural, candid moments.
What time of day do sessions take place?
Sessions usually take place in the early morning or in the evening about an hour before sunset, when the light is soft, warm, and flattering. Morning sessions can be perfect for little ones who are early risers, while evening sessions give us that beautiful golden glow.
What happens after we book?
Once your session is booked, I’ll send you a confirmation along with helpful information to prepare for your session. This includes outfit tips, location ideas, and what to expect so you can arrive feeling relaxed and excited.
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely. Pets are part of the family and are always welcome in sessions. Just bring a leash, some treats, and maybe a favorite toy to help keep them happy and engaged.
Can extended family be included?
Extended family sessions can absolutely be arranged! Please reach out before booking so we can plan the session and ensure enough time is set aside.
