Hi! I'm Amber!

Cozy Photographer

I’m Amber — a Northern Michigan girl who loves golden sunsets, soft light, and the kind of moments that make you slow down and savor them. I believe the best photos come from genuine connection, laughter, and creating a cozy space where you can simply be yourself.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me with my golden retriever, Ollie, soaking up the outdoors or curled up editing with a cozy blanket and coffee nearby. I truly believe the best things in life are simple — laughter, warmth, and being surrounded by the people (and pups) you love most.

Where does "heart of a Bailey" come from?

a Family connection

Heart of a Bailey was named in honor of my Grandpa Bob Bailey — a photographer whose love for capturing memories lives on in a way that feels incredibly personal to me. I never had the chance to meet him, but I’ve always felt connected to him through the stories of his wonderful heart and the photographs he left behind. There’s something so tender about knowing that before I ever held a camera, he did too — noticing light, people, and the beauty in everyday moments.

Sometimes it feels like a quiet gift that was passed down without words. Like a piece of his heart found its way into mine. Carrying his name in my business is my way of keeping that connection close — of honoring where this love for photography began. Every time I press the shutter, I think about how meaningful it is to preserve moments that will one day become someone’s most treasured memories. In a small way, it feels like continuing a story of love that started long before me — and that makes what I do even more special.

My approach

My approach is simple: I want you to feel completely comfortable. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but I never want anything to feel stiff or forced. I believe the most beautiful moments happen in the in-between — when you’re laughing at something unscripted, tucking hair behind your ear, squeezing a hand without thinking. I create space for connection first, and the photos follow naturally. My goal is for your session to feel less like a photoshoot and more like a cozy experience you actually enjoy — one where you leave thinking, “That was easier than I thought,” and “That felt like us.”
